Dîner en Blanc: Boston~2023

BYOE is the operable word for Dîner en Blanc! “Bring Your Own Everything” and wear white. Not off white, or pearly white, everyone had to wear “copy paper” white with silver or gold accessories. We were given a laundry list of items to bring along all white accents to set our personal dinner table. Attendees were able to purchase bottles of wine in advance, but the line for pick up was more than a city block long… Other than the wait, the event turned out to be well worth the extra effort. For me, getting ready for the big event was an interesting challenge, much like a scavenger hunt. I invited my adventurous friend Marcia to join me. We carried in a lovely spread of Mediterranean nibbles, fruit, sushi, tiramisu and mini crème brûlée for dessert. The highlight of the afternoon was seeing nearly 1,500 people come together to fill three city blocks in a picnic style party. Those who knew, definitely knew, and they showed up in showed out with some wearing extravagant white hats, and setting elegantly decorated white tables. In the end, Marcia suggested that it might be fun to attend the dinner party in another city. I think it’s a great idea. Can’t wait for next year! 🤍
