2025 COLORS OF JAZZ ALL-STARS ~ Live In Studio50 celebrating HERStory!💜☮️ It’s been my great honor to assemble the band for WICN’s Women’s History Month concert. Women have historically been underrepresented in the art form of Jazz, and we seek to elevate their role as instrumentalists, and band leaders. This year we presented a “dream band” trio to accompany our vocalists. Plus… once again stretching my creative side to design this very cool flyer!
SPRING 2023 HAPPENINGS: Bonnie’s journey into broadcasting was explored by students of Northeastern University’s graduate studies’ project, “RECKONINGS: A local history platform for the community-archivist”. Bonnie is featured among several local Boston artists in the student-driven oral history project focused on documenting “the contemporary Black arts movements and its legacies”.
Bonnie joined forces with visionary writer, Reverend Melony McGant, to co-author GOOD IS POWERFUL BEYOND MEASURE: AN ANTHOLOGY OF HOPE (McGant, 2024). With more than 100 contributors, the book pays tribute to the legacies of Ben Vereen, and Sweet Honey In The Rock co-founders Carol Maillard, and Louise Robinson, on the occasion of the fifty year anniversary of the GRAMMY Award winning a cappella ensemble. This anthology offers an inspirational collection short stories, reflective writing, and poetry that celebrates contemporary Black History!
